“ My son has been wanting to taste "authentic" Chinese food in Flushing for a long time, and a trip to JFK took us there. This place is a real gem - we had thought that it was a small noodle house, so were pleasantly surprised to see that they had a rich and diverse menu. Although specializing mostly in southwestern Chinese cuisine, the menu also features certain northern flavors, such as the famous Shaanxi hamburger "marinated meat in baked bun"（肉夾饃）. My son ordered one and claimed it was delicious - the bun had a crispy shell and the braised pork inside was cooked to perfection. I ordered the vegetarian Mifen (rice noodle) in a clay pot. I thought it would come out in a petite jar, but it was in a real size POT that could feed a whole family! The noodle soup was a bit on the bland side, but with the line up of seasonings on the table, I customized my own flavors. My son loves "Stinky Tofu" - in this version, it was pungent fermented tofu fried crispy on the outside in a dipping sauce. Although I generally stay clear of strong smells (I avoid durian at all cost), this plate of tofu was a nice surprise! It didn't smell much but tasted really nice. My son chose the "sliced lamb mifen", which he consumed with gusto. We also ordered "boiled fish fillet in hot chilli oil" (水煮魚）, which was infused with Szechuan peppercorn that left one's tongue and throat tingling. The portions were generous for the modest pricing, we packed most of the fish dish home for our next dinner. p.s. The menu on Yelp is incomplete. I could not find most of the dishes that we ordered. “ Great place. What a hidden gem. The noodles are good and the staff are super attentive. Got the lamb with skin on noodles , and beef noodles. Both are very good. HIGHLY RECOMMEND the lotus root appetizer. It's crunchy, savory, and nice and light ”

“ I've seen this place on Yelp and always wanted to try. Service: awesome service, the waitress was super friendly and helpful when it came to answering questions. Food: We ordered dumplings and they were so yummy and juicy! As for the noodles, we ordered the fish soup, and beef hot and spicy noodles. I felt that the noodles were a little bland, and not as much flavor as I'd like. The noodles were nice and bouncy!! ”

“ 6/5/2022 Had another great lunch visit with family. Enjoyed the Stewed Lamb Mifen (rice vermicelli), and once again emptied the bowl and drank the last drop of broth. Others also enjoyed the Sliced Lamb Mifen and Beef Mifen. ”

“ Great place for tasty noodle soup! We tried the Beef Noodle Soup and the Lamb Noodle Soup. They provide a decent amount of food, with a big bowl of soup and lots of noodles and meat. The taste of the soup was a good standard for what I would expect in Flushing. The service was great. The server was very personable and we talked about the basketball that was showing. The interior of the restaurant is nicely decorated and kept very clean. This is definitely a place I would come back to try more items from their menu. ”

“ I can't remember the first time I visited. I do remember I was trying to find beef noodles after my then favorite spot started using more and more inedible bits of beef. This place was not serving your typical beef noodle soup; the flavors were a nice mix of spicy and sour with a dash of picked vegetables and plenty of broth, beef, and noodles. Also, they used rice noodles instead of wheat. Thinking of their noodles usually leads me to give them a call for pickup. But the real reason I'm reviewing this place after all these years is that I thought they had closed 2 months ago. I guess you don't appreciate something until it's gone. To my delight, I stopped by last week and they reopened; they were only temporary closed for renovations. While the price has gone up to a little over a sawbuck, the unique taste is still there. I do think the flavor is a little more overt now, with a lot of beef flavor in the broth and fewer notes of pickled and sour vegetables, but it's still very good. Also, the decor is a step up. They even added TVs on the wall if you're visiting alone. ”

“ If I were to ever write a love letter to a bowl of noodle soup, the hot & tangy beef beauty from here would be the one to inspire me. You see, I need the object of my affection to have flavor and lots of it. I need it to elicit feelings of passion and desire. And okay, I need it to make me laugh, though that may be pushing it with a bowl of soup: To back way the f**k up, I recently had the indescribable pleasure of trying this spot's beef mifen soup for the first time. Mifen, by the way, apparently means rice noodles. Anyway, from my first slurp, I was a goner. I don't know what was in the broth... Ginger? Star Anise? Tangerine peel? Chiles? But damn, it was heady! It was packed with fork tender beef, baby bok choy, plus various fermented veggies, and topped with tons of cilantro. At first glance, the rice noodles looked like spaghetti, but they were slippery and uniquely chewy. In relative Flushing terms, this small, fast casual eatery is downright posh, boasting a handful of tables and if I am remembering right, a restroom! It's a bit off the beaten path in terms of location, but is near Star Bakery, which I'd recommend for its sesame balls and egg tarts. ”
